The Coronavirus and AAC events

With respect to concerns about the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the AAC is monitoring the situation and is aware of possible impact on agility trials. Updates will be provided as necessary.

According to Health Canada (March 11), the current risk for the majority of the population is low. However, the situation could change rapidly. Certain age groups are more at risk than others.

The AAC urges trial hosts and competitors to follow the recommendations of Health Canada and the World Health Organization. (links below). A number of fact sheets are available for download from the Government of Canada website.

Event attendees should follow best practices to try to avoid the spread of the virus. Be diligent in hand-washing and if using hand sanitizer, ensure that alcohol content is higher than 60%. Hosts should make sure that adequate hygiene stations are available for visitors. Keep yourselves informed. Check all health advisories before travelling. Pay attention to notices from Public Health officials in your municipality. If you are sick, use your common sense and stay at home!
